The Manera Eclipse Hardshell Trapeze is a kitesurfing harness with a hard back plate that moves with your body. Manera set out to build a harness with good back support and a low fit, but without a fully rigid shell: every body is different, so the harness needs to adapt. The result is a balance between stiffness and flex.
The adaptive back plate is stiff in the middle and becomes more flexible towards the sides. This gives you support for your back while leaving freedom of movement around your ribs and waist. On the inside, soft gel foam padding takes the shape of your body and helps prevent chafing and rashes.
The ends of the spreader bar slide into the harness with the Tuck Flap system, which keeps the bar securely in place. The Down Hold System is an asymmetric attachment that pulls the spreader bar down as you fasten it, so the harness is less likely to ride up.
